Another residential collaboration between three musicians who will be workiing together for the first time: sitarist Tommy Khosla, an acclaimed composer whose work has won him international acclaim. He will be joined by renowned steelpan producer Zolatec and tabla virtuoso Nirmal Chohal. The trio will fuse diasporic influences, electronic textures and complex Indian rhythms to create a bold, contemporary sound for a unique evening.

Tarek Elazhary is an Egyptian oud player and composer who graduated from the Arab Oud House in 2014 under the mentorship of renowned Iraqi oud master Nasser Shamma, and has since performed at numerous local and international festivals with the Arab Oud Orchestra.
Yorkshire-born soprano Iona Kaye, a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, specializes in storytelling through music as a founding member of the prize-winning collective NOMAD, where she curates experimental projects exploring folk-inspired and contemporary classical repertoire—highlights include performances at Bridgewater Hall's Live at Lunchtime series, Factory International's Aviva Studios for Manchester International Festival, and premiering The Gardener's Daughter, an intimate theatre work for which she created the original concept and story.
Contemporary drummer Jamie Sykes brings over 17 years of live performance and teaching experience, specializing in flow, improvisation, and developing individual styles through explorative rhythmic complexities such as metric modulation, linear writing, and subdivisions, performing as drummer for Ilke-ta, Major Ruse, Benjamin Luhis, and various jazz and metal bands.

This special concert brought together three outstanding musicians, each with a distinctive voice in contemporary folk music . They spent a week collaborating at our unique venue in preparation for both this performance and upcoming recording projects.
Grace Smith, an acclaimed fiddle and viola player and dedicated educator, performs with her own Grace Smith Trio, whose debut album Overleaf was hailed by Folk Radio UK as “the exciting future of instrumental folk music.” The trio — weaving together fiddle, concertina and double bass — creates a dynamic, expressive sound that bridges tradition and new writing.
Archie Churchill-Moss, one of Britain’s leading diatonic button accordion players, has toured widely across Europe, headlined major festivals, and collaborated with many of the UK’s foremost folk artists. His inventive style blends deep traditional roots with modern influences.
Completing the lineup is Dave Malkin, a guitarist, composer and producer known for his beautifully nuanced blend of old and new, bringing his experience in film and television music to his richly textured playing. After a week of immersive collaboration onsite, these three artists promise an evening of compelling, conversation-like musicianship shaped by their shared creative time here.

Belgian keyboardist and producer Alex Lesage creates experimental electronic music blending electro, hip-hop, and jazz using analog synths, while Indian multi-disciplinary artist Shivani fuses twenty years of Hindustani classical training with contemporary Western pop, earning recognition from BBC Introducing and NTS Radio. These two innovative artists met and worked together for the first time at L'Espace Sauvanie collaborating on an entirely new body of work that merged Lesage's organic electronic textures with Shivani's spiritual classical improvisations and cross-cultural songwriting.
